Matt 14 & John 6 When Jesus had preached all day and healed many but the hour was late and people were hungry, He teaches His disciples through testing their faith. The disciples were confronted with the impossibility of feeding all the people. In Matthew 14, they say, "send them home," and in John 6, they ask Jesus, "Where shall we buy bread that these may eat?" These disciples saw Jesus heal the sick and bring the dead back to life. But they set their eyes on the impossibility and NOT on Jesus! Jesus the Way Maker; Miracle Worker and Promise Keeper! The first step in our pilgrimage or journey as Christ-followers must be this......we must know WHO Jesus is! He is God incarnate! He is our Way Maker......when there is no way; He is our Miracle Worker ....when all seems lost, and He is our Promise Keeper.....when doubt rushes in! In Matthew 14, Jesus allowed a real storm to come. As if to graduate them to a higher level, Jesus sends them to the other side of the Sea. Read Matthew 14:22. But something happened on their way there......another test! Read Matt 14:24-27. Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid." Take time in prayer today in these uncertain times and quiet your heart before your Heavenly Father. During our journey as followers of Christ, we must acknowledge WHO God is AND we must TRUST HIM!
