Luke 19:41-44 Now as He (Jesus) drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and our children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation." When Jesus entered the city, He wept! He was not waving at the crowds and blowing kisses! As the people shouted their praises; as the Pharisees rebuked Him; Jesus wept!! Klaio in the Greek means to "wail" and not Dekano, which means to shed silent tears! Jesus wailed openly before the multitudes as they cheered! Take time in prayer today and seek His heart. What would really move Jesus to openly weep like this? Let us take time to reflect on this Word and find what moved Jesus to openly weep. Spend time in His Word today!
